A Busy Week for Year 6
It's been a busy end of the week for our Year 6 classes.
On Thursday, 6LN went to Holgate Academy to take part in a transition visit. As part of their Viking topic, they have made some Viking oat cakes using a recipe from the Viking era. As Holgate Academy have much larger cookery rooms, they were able to all cook together as a whole class and the children absolutely loved getting their hands stuck in and doing some baking all together.
The oat cakes looked brilliant and we are really looking forward to adding our own toppings to them and having a taste after all our hard work!
On Friday afternoon, Year 6 invited parents in to come and help with a sewing session, again linked to their Vikings Topic. Children (and parents) designed, cut and sewed together a piece of clothing or accessory in the style of Viking dress. Some fabulous bags, purses and tunics were created.
