Miners Rescue visit
What a fantastic afternoon Year 3 had when the Miners Rescue came to visit school!
It was AMAZING to see all the equipment used both in the past and still today. The children recognized the Davy Lamps, the self-rescuers, the radios to communicate underground and the stretcher to get injured miners out. Their recall of facts from our vehicle lessons was BRILLIANT! As you can see from the photographs the children were very engaged. A huge THANK YOU to Ashley and George from Mansfield Miners Rescue who shared their knowledge and experiences of rescuing trapped people as their job.
