Early last week, years 5 and 6 had a visit from local MP - Michelle Welsh - who shared her journey into politics and the advantage and challenges. The children were shocked to learn the amount of hours in a working week and how much time was spent away from home. The children asked some great questions and were interested in how to overcome being nervous before public speaking and the different things they could do to get involved from a young age. She shared what a 'day in the life of an MP' could look like and how different things can be affected by the day-to-day discussions.
